Crystal Ball Downgrades Arcuri Rating
Race analysis moves from ‘leans Democrat’ to ‘toss-up’
Larry J. Sabato’s political analysis Web site, Crystal Ball, has joined the ranks of most major political analysis publications in downgrading Michael Arcuri’s chances in winning New York’s 24th Congressional District.
On Sunday, Crystal Ball – the Web site run by University of Virginia’s Center for Politics – moved the race from ‘leans Democrat’ to ‘toss-up.’ Other publications that have made the switch since Richard Hanna announced his candidacy include: Real Clear Politics, Congressional Quarterly, New York Times, Cook Political Report and Rothenberg Political Report.
Sabato’s Crystal Ball describes itself as a site that “keeps tabs on presidential elections, along with every Senate and gubernatorial race, as well as the tightest campaigns for the House.” The Wall Street Journal calls Sabato’s Crystal Ball the nation’s most accurate electoral analysis.
Hanna was highlighted this year in TIME Magazine as one of the most impressive GOP candidates, making the race for the 24th Congressional District one to watch nationwide.
