About Richard
Richard is a graduate of Whitesboro High School in Marcy, N.Y. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Reed College in Portland, Ore., where he was commended by the Interdisciplinary Committee for “Excellence in Scholarship.”
He is a licensed pilot with high performance and sea plane certifications. Richard volunteers as a co-pilot with Angel Flights providing free transport to the sick and injured in need of long-distance transportation. Richard purchased and rebuilt the defunct Cooperstown-Westville Airport. It has become a significant community asset in the Cooperstown area, as noted by one area resident.
Richard’s wife Kim is a Registered Nurse, a licensed mental health therapist and a bereavement therapist certified by the Association of Death Education and Counseling. Kim has worked at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Samaritan Counseling Center, both in Utica, N.Y. She has most recently worked as an adjunct faculty member at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Richard was born in Utica and is a lifelong citizen of Upstate New York. As a boy, he spent many summers at his grandparents’ Dairy Farm in Herkimer County. Richard and Kim reside in Barneveld with their two young children, Emerson and Grace.
